The Little Island is a modern day fable of feathers and friendship, written by Smriti Prasadam-Halls and illustrated by me.
'That night the geese called a meeting.'
Here you can see the steps I went through when illustrating this pivotal scene in the story.
I started with the idea that this meeting was fuelled by anger at perceived wrongs done by the other animals - so the geese are moaning about all the things that used to be better before the other animals came. It also reflects on some level the heated debates going on in the House of Commons. The lead goose's main arguments are backed up by charts and posters - but are these 'facts' true?
